IBM has recently filed a patent application for a new traffic light system that can remotely start and stop the engines of our vehicles. According to this patent application traffic light system would receive position data from all vehicles waiting at traffic lights and would then send a stop engine notification to all the vehicles waiting for more than a specified period of time.
