Google has announced the launch of its new web indexing system, known as Caffeine. According to Google its new web indexing system (Caffeine) will now provide at least 50 % fresher results as compare to its last web indexing system.

“Caffeine provides 50 percent fresher results for web searches than our last index, and it’s the largest collection of web content we’ve offered,” the Google says in a news release on its official blog. Google’s old web indexing system consisted of several layers, the main layer of old web indexing system updates every couple of weeks. In Google’s old web indexing system new content was not added to the Google search index until a layer was refreshed. According to Google this new web indexing system (Caffeine) can add new content directly to the search index.

Caffeine adds new information at a rate of hundreds of thousands of gigabytes per day and takes up almost 100 million gigabytes of storage. Google says that “if this were a pile of paper it would grow three miles taller ever second”. This statement shows that how quickly Caffeine can index webpages.
